Since 1989, Allisan Lee Adams has been helping clients with family matters, real estate closings, personal injury actions and drafting wills. My goal regardless of the type of case I handle, is to provide pleasant, prompt and precise legal assistance.

Among other areas of practice, Attorney Adams handles family issues ranging from prenuptial agreements, divorces, legal separations and post judgment issues such as custody, visitation, child support and alimony.

Usually the most difficult time for clients is during the dissolution of marriage or legal separation process, when emotions run highest and financial resources run lowest. Especially where children are involved, regardless of their ages, I recommend that parents try to reach an agreement regarding all issues of conflict. Although many spouses believe that their association with one another ends upon the final dissolution hearing, if they are parents, it does not. As children grow up and have their own families, they will want both parents at future family gatherings. It is therefore important to try to get through the process with mutual respect, in spite of differing opinions.

The key to reaching an amicable resolution of the various issues is reasonableness. Reasonable positions help to keep emotions from escalating and foster more productive negotiations.
